This site is under development and designed to provide up-to-date information to UAS (drone) pilots.
AerialTouch is currently ingesting weather data directly from the US National Weather Service via their NOAAPort Satellite. Weather information is being parsed by content and location, then sent by SMS text message to those requesting notification for a specific area. Of specific interest to UAS pilots will be the METAR (Meteorological Aerodrome Report) and TAF (Terminal Aerodrome Forecast). These provide current conditions and forecast information for the next 24-30 hours. In addition to the standard METAR and TAF data, notifications of current watches and warnings are available.
The website is currently under development and serves as a front-end to register for the notification beta program. Based on input from the beta program, the website will be fully developed to provide access to weather data. Time critical notifications are delivered through SMS text messaging
Text-based (SMS) weather notification services are currently being tested. If you would like to register for beta testing (or opt-out of future notifications), please contact us at lturner@aerialtouch.com.
As development continues, we will automate the registration and unsubsubscription processes. Registration will only be handled through the website (after verification). Unsubscribing will be available on the website or by responding with UNSUBSCRIBE to any of the SMS notification messages.
